MA Gas Prices Up 45 Cents Since February

Tuesday, April 30, 2019

MA gas prices are up 45 cents since February.

Massachusetts gas prices have risen 45 cents since February.

This comes after gas prices went up 10 cents this week, according to AAA Northeast.

“Compared to the beginning of the year, motorists have definitely felt an increasing squeeze on their wallets at the pump. These increases mean Americans are having to work more to afford to fill up their gas tanks. AAA found that, nationally, Americans must work 22 percent longer than at the start of the year to buy one gallon of unleaded gasoline - that’s 7.3 minutes compared to 5.76 minutes in January,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs.

AAA’s April 29 survey of prices in Massachusetts finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.79 per gallon.

The Massachusetts price is nine cents lower than the national average for regular unleaded of $2.88.

A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was four cents lower at $2.75.

Today’s local gas prices and their ranges are as follows:

Self Serve                                           Grade

$2.79 ($2.57-$3.09)                            Regular Unleaded

$2.92 ($2.69-$3.29)                            Midgrade Unleaded

$3.11 ($2.91-$3.49)                            Premium Unleaded

$3.09 ($2.85-$3.49)                            Diesel
