Max Mirageas

Blackstone Valley Tech has announced that Max Miageas and Erik Martus have been named Blackstone Valley Tech’s recipients of the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents Award of Academic Excellence.

“Max Mirageas and Erik Martus exemplify the dedication and work ethic characteristic of all students who attend our school.  Max and Erik discovered their passions through quality career-technical education, and their drive and determination allowed for remarkable achievement in both the academic and vocational setting. We are immensely proud of them for their accomplishments to date, and excited to see how they continue to build on their success in their future endeavors. As graduates of Blackstone Valley Tech, we couldn’t ask for better ambassadors to showcase the many forms of excellence cultivated at BVT and the powerful efficacy of the Massachusetts model for career technical education,” said Assistant Superintendent-Director Anthony Steele.

The scholarship is presented to two seniors who show the school’s commitment to cutting-edge career technical training and rigorous academics.

The Recipients

Erik Martus

Mirageas has a passion for traveling and has made trips to the Dominican Republic and Italy. This summer, before embarking on his next educational endeavor to study Business at a four-year college, Max will travel to Indonesia to broaden his travel experience and immerse himself in another culture.

Erik Martus is the Class of 2017 Salutatorian and an active participant in Cross Country, Track, National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, and SkillsUSA. He hopes to study Video Game Design at either the University of Utah or Drexel University.
