Man Shot and Killed During After Hours Party in Worcester

Sunday, March 22, 2015

A 27-year-old male was shot and killed early Sunday morning during an after hours party on Narragansett Avenue. According to the Worcester Police Department, the man has been identified as Christian Omar Puello-Rosado of Worcester.

Worcester Police had responded to a report of several gunshots heard from within the apartment on Narragansett Ave. As officers arrived, they were informed that a 28-year-old woman had been arrived at a Worcester hospital emergency room with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. With this information, and with no response from anyone inside the apartment, officers entered the apartment through a partially ajar door. Upon entering, officers found the body of Puello-Rosado. He was pronounced dead at 5:18 AM.

Preliminary investigation found that there was a crowded after-hours party at the apartment and that there was a verbal argument between Puello-Rosado and an unknown person(s). The argument led to Puello-Rosado and the female victim being shot.

The female victim was driven to the hospital by a friend. The police went to the hospital and spoke with the female victim, but she was uncooperative.

A motive for the shooting has yet to be determined.

This investigation is ongoing, if anyone has information about this incident they can send an anonymous text to 274637 TIPWPD + your message or send an anonymous web based message at worcesterma.gov/police. Calls can also be made to the Worcester Police Detective Bureau at (508) 799-8651.
