MBTA Closed at 7 PM Tonight and All Day Tomorrow

Monday, February 09, 2015

MBTA has announced that all rail services including subway, trolley and commuter rail will be suspended as of 7 PM Monday and all day Tuesday. Maintenance crews are still clearing snow and ice from tracks, the third rail and switches.

Bus service will be available on a limited bases. Various buses will run on snow routes and there will be delays to due traffic congestion and street conditions.

Bus customers will not be able to make transfers at intermodal points due to this suspension.

As GoLocal reported earlier, Governor Charlie Baker called the MBTA's performance 'simply unacceptable.' Baker said, "“We’ve been frusturated and disappointed with the performance of the ‘T'.' We spent a lot time over the course of hte weekend, talking to the folks at the T to make sure they were able to run an abbreviated schedule today. The fact that even that abbreviated schedule hasn’t been able to be maintained and once it stops snowing, we plan to have a long conversation with folks at the T with improving performance.”
