Right Now: Worcester 2nd Snowiest City in the United States

With 72.6 inches of snow so far this winter, the city of Worcester is currently the second snowiest city in the United States according to GoldenSnowGlobe.com. Worcester is only behind Erie, Pennsylvania which has seen 79.1 inches of snow.

The Top 25 Snowiest Cities in the U.S. is based on cities with a population of more than 100,000 people. According to the list, Worcester typically sees only 35.5 inches of snow by this time of year on average.

Boston is also on the list in 7th place with 53.4 inches of snow.

3. Buffalo, New York - 69.4 Inches

4. Grand Rapids, Michigan - 64.3 Inches

Green Hill Park, Worcester

Green Hill Park is located atop one of Worcester's seven main hills. It is bordered on the north by I290, on the south by Route 9 (Belmont Street), on the west by Channing, Uxbridge and Denmar Streets (parallel to Lincoln Street), and to the east by Skyline Drive.

Being that the park is located on hill, it makes for a great place to go sledding.

Hadwen Park, Worcester

Hadwen Park is open from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The park can be reached from Webster Square by taking Webster Street to Knox Street to the stone gate entrance to the park. Parking is allowed on Knox Street, and there are no entrance fees.

Hadwen Park provides great areas for sledding for children of all ages.

Ski Ward is located on 1000 Main Street, Shrewsbury, MA and is a great place for smaily fun, not only sledding but tubing and skiing as well. 

Lift tickets for ages 6 and up are $30 while ages 5 and under get in for $10. 

Season passes are also available.

The sledding hill is open from dawn to dusk, wheather permitting and is for sleds and tubes only.
