Serious Crash on 479 Southwest Cutoff Injures 3, Police Investigating

The Crash
When officers arrived at the scene, they observed a 2011 Toyota Highlander and a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta with extensive damage. Inside the Toyota were two injured females, both 54, and inside the Volkswagen was a 23 year old male.
The Worcester Police Crash Reconstruction Unit was called in to take over the Investigation.
A preliminary investigation indicated that the Toyota was traveling west on Southwest Cutoff while the Volkswagen was traveling east on Southwest Cutoff. Witness informed the officers that the Volkswagen crossed over the center line and hit the front of the Toyota.
Both vehicles were towed from the second and will be held until investigators can complete a full mechanical inspection.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No citations were issued at this time.
