Worcester’s Main St. Alliance: Send Terrorist’s Body to Russia
Monday, May 06, 2013
"As Chairman of the Main South Alliance for Public Safety earlier today, May 4, 2013, I reached out to U.S. Rep. James P. McGovern, D, Worcester, to his Washington office by email and phone, for his assistance in contacting U.S. Secretary of State John F. Kerry in the removal of the alleged Boston Marathon terrorist bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s body from Worcester back to Russia," said Breault.
Active to Move Bomber from Worcester
On Monday, May 6, the group will kick off the effort in front of the Graham, Putnam and Mahoney funeral home, where Tsarnaev was transported late last week. "We will announce in front of the Graham, Putnam and Mahoney funeral home, the opening of a TD bank account of which I will start and donate $500 to raise the necessary money to send him back to Russia. We will appeal to residents of Worcester, Boston, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the nation to return his body to his Russian homeland. My sympathy goes to the families of those that died, lost limbs and to the hundreds that were wounded."
Cost: $3,000 to $7,000
"I have talked to two Worcester area funeral directors on the cost of flying the body back to Russia. The estimate was in the range of $3,000 to $7,000; they said you have to contact the Russian Embassy and the Russian Consulate. Clearly this shows we need the support of Congressman McGovern and the New Secretary of State from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, John F. Kerry," said Breault.
Edith Flynn, Professor Emeritus at Northeastern University and terrorism expert recently said “my idea of returning the body to Dagestan would be a way to deal with this problem." Flynn said “the U.S. Government should put Tsarnaev’s body on a U.S. military cargo plane as soon as possible.”
