PAGE 25 Patriarca Warns That if Peabody Wins Governor in MA “we’ll never get anywhere for he’s a KENNEDY man.”

Tied to Patrairca’s ownership of the Berkshire Downs, he is worried about the potential election of Endicott Peabody as he fears he will be restrictive to his need to expand the number of racing days. Peobody ran President John F. Kennedy’s campaign in West Virginia during the 1960 campaign. Peobody ultimately beat incumbent Republican Governor John Volpe by under 5,000 votes.

 

PAGE 33 Patriots Gambling Controversy Expands

“Boston informants advises that REDACTED and REDACTED Boston Patriots football players betting large sums of football games with REDACTED bookmaker. In Boston-New York Titan game of 11/30/62, players bet on Titans in view of point spread favoring Boston . Boston beat Titans 24 to 17 and players won their bets. REDACTED Boston REDACTED, sidelined with REDACTED and did not play.” See pages 34 and 35.

Dallas has been instructed to call this situation to attention of Joe Foss, President of American Football League. Boston Office being instructed to press investigation of this situation.”
