MA gas prices rise 6 cents

Massachusetts gas prices are up six cents from last week, according to AAA Northeast.

Over the last six weeks, prices have climbed 16 cents per gallon.

“Thanks to increasing demand and tightening gasoline stocks across the country, March gas prices came in like a lion and will not go out like a lamb. State gas price averages are similar to a year ago give or take a few pennies, with every state but Florida seeing higher prices this week,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs.

AAA’s March 25 survey of prices in Massachusetts finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.50 per gallon.

The Massachusetts price is twelve cents lower than the national average for regular unleaded of $2.62.

The average price in Massachusetts is the same as it was one year ago.

Today’s local gas prices and their ranges are as follows:

Self Serve                                           Grade

$2.50 ($2.31-$3.05)                            Regular Unleaded

$2.69 ($2.45-$2.99)                            Midgrade Unleaded

$2.91 ($2.65-$3.29)                            Premium Unleaded

$3.04 ($2.81-$3.39)                            Diesel
