Monday, June 29, 2015
“The 2015 CHA represents an unprecedented level of community engagement for the city and demonstrates the expansion of community partnerships through the CHIP,” said Michael P. Hirsh, M.D., Medical Director of the Worcester Division of Public Health and Chief of Pediatric Surgery at UMass.
The CHA's purpose is collect information on health changes, behavior and priorities in the area with a goal to answer the questions: What does a healthy region look like, and what more do we need to get there?
Communities involved in the survey include the communities of the Central MA Regional Public Health Alliance, Grafton, Holden, Leicester, Millbury, Shrewsbury, West Boylston, and Worcester.
“This survey will help us to determine our greatest health needs as a region and will allow us to build upon existing initiatives with a focus on continued improvement. It supports our long term vision of being the healthiest city in the healthiest region in New England by 2020,” said City Manager Edward M. Augustus.
The anonymous survey, which should take about 15 minutes to complete and is available in multiple languages, is available online at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2015WCHA . The data will be used to inform the Greater Worcester Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) and therefore the strategies and objectives that will be pursued to address the health concerns in the region.
