Thursday, July 30, 2015
The team, called "Thin Blue Ride," is led by Officer Jonathan "JD" Daige. Officer Daige has been diagnosed with three different types of cancer (testicular, lung and brain cancer) and is currently in remission. Officer Daige will be one of 300 PMC rider who are cancer survivors or cancer patients.
The Pan Mass Challenge is an annual bike-a-thon across the state that raises money for live saving cancer research and treatment - generating half of the Jimmy Fund's annual revenue and serving as the single largest contributor to Dana-Farber.
Over the past 35 years, cyclists have raised $455 million for cancer research through the Pan Mass Challenge.
