NEW: Worcester PD Catches Suspect in Millbury Street Shooting
Thursday, July 09, 2015
At the time of the shooting there was little information provided on the suspect, however, the police learned through the course of the investigation that the suspect was a black male, wearing a white t-shirt and cargo shorts. At the time of the arrest, Rosario was wearing the same type of clothing.
The officer spotted Rosario walking a bike on Summer Street heading towards Washington Square. After calling for assistance, the officer approached Rosario who proceeded to get on his bike and ride away. The officer yelled for Rosario to stop, but he just peddled away faster.
The officer caught up with Rosario after he crashed his bike into a guardrail located at Grafton and Franklin Streets. Rosario, who was carrying a handgun, was secured once a second officer arrived and taken to police headquarters for questioning.
Rosario has not yet been linked to the shooting but has been charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and carrying a firearm without a license.
Rosario will be arraigned on Thursday at the Worcester County Courthouse.
