NEW: Worcester Police Arrest Two for Shooting Off of Shrewsbury Street

On Tuesday afternoon, the Worcester Police Department (WPD) arrested two individuals responsible for the shootings that occurred off of Shrewsbury Street last week.

According to the WPD, Rafael Gaton, 45-years-old of 97 Arthur Street, Worcester and Ashleigh Brewer, 28-years-old of 97 Arthur Street, were placed under arrest on outstanding warrants. The couple was located at the Fairfield Inn and Suites located at 823 Washington Street, Auburn.

Gaton and Brewer were arrested on warrants for Discharging a Firearm within 500 feet of a Dwelling, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Armed Assault with the Intent to Murder and Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License. They will be arraigned at Worcester County District Courthouse.

As GoLocalWorcester reported last week, on Friday afternoon, Worcester Police officers working traffic detail on Shrewsbury Street heard several gunshots coming from Daniels Street. Shortly after, two men in a vehicle drove up to an officer standing on Shrewsbury Street and told the officer that they were shot at while on Daniels Street.
