A Christmas Carol at Hanover Theatre

There is plenty going on around Worcester to keep you busy this weekend. From music to art, there are events for all ages. 

This weekend’s events include opening night of A Christmas Carol at Hanover Theatre, the Worcester Railers hosting Manchester at the DCU Center, live music from Dale LePage and more.

The Worcester Railers are back at the DCU Center to host the Manchester Monarchs on Friday night.

The Railers come into the game with a record of 11-11-3 overall, while the Monarchs are 11-10-1 overall.

Vermont Glassblower Burgess at New Street Glass Studio

Burgess is a glassblower in Greensboro, Vermont.

His handblown glass forms portray a graceful elegance with acute attention to detail.

After receiving his BFA from Alfred University in 2001, he continued his education working as an apprentice with Ben Moore Inc. in Seattle, Washington.

In 2001, he completed a three-year residency program at the Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina.

His work has been published in national publications and has exhibited at the Mint Museum of Craft and Designed in North Carolina and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

 

Burgess will be at the studio on December 14 for an artist slide talk and demo from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Celebrate the holiday season with New England’s largest production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, adapted by The Hanover Theatre’s president and CEO Troy Siebels and featuring the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ, New England’s largest theatre pipe organ.

New and returning cast members tell the tale of curmudgeonly miser Ebenezer Scrooge, who is visited by the ghosts of Christmases Past, Present, and Future.
