Veterans Day at Old Sturbridge Village 

The Veterans Day celebration at Old Sturbridge Village begins at 9:30 a.m. and concludes at 5 p.m. 

Throughout the day, Old Sturbridge Village will present special activities celebrating the nation's military history. See how lead musket balls were cast in the Small House, and get your initials stamped on your own musket ball at the Blacksmith Shop. See how American military uniforms and weapons have changed over the past 300 years and see demonstrations of the weapons and more.

Glassblowing Holiday Ornaments at New Street Glass Studio

Why buy ornaments when you can make them yourself? 

After learning the safety and studio etiquette rules, students will watch a brief demonstration of this 2000-year-old art before diving in and making their very own holiday ornament from glass gathered out of a 2100-degree furnace. Students will choose their own colors and instructors will guide them through the steps from gathering to blowing the bubble and applying a glass loop for hanging.
