Wednesday, March 11, 2015

On Monday evening, Worcester Police responded to a report of a person with a gun. According to a 29-year-old victim, he was traveling on Greenwood Street when a male operator of a Toyota Camry pointed a gun at him while in traffic. The victim followed the Camry and provided police with updates on the suspect's direction of travel.

A responding officer stopped the suspects vehicle at the intersection of Providence and Dorchester Streets. According to WPD, the search of the Camry resulted in a "a black pellet gun, an opened bottle of vodka and several bags of marijuana of various sizes along with a glass jar containing additional marijuana."

The driver of the Camery, Edwin Figueroa, 19-years-old of 163 Austin Street, Worcester was with two female passengers, identified as Thalia Colon, 20-years-old of 163 Austin Street, Worcester and Natalie Fenner, 19-years-old of 4 Courtland Street, Worcester. When officers opened the door to the Toyota they immediately detected a very strong odor of marijuana emitting from the inside.

WPD states that the victime said "he was stopped behind the Toyota at a traffic light. When the light turned green the Toyota did not move so the victim activated his horn. The Toyota began to move forward but at a very slow speed. The Toyota then stopped and the driver, Mr. Figueroa, extended his arm out of the driver’s window and pointed a gun at him. The Toyota drove on after that with the victim following him. At this time the victim called the police."

Figueroa was placed under arrest and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (firearm), Possession of Class D Substance with the Intent to Distribute and Minor in Possession of Alcohol. Fenner was placed under arrest and charged with being a Minor in Possession of Alcohol. Colon was placed under arrest and charged with being a Minor in Possession of Alcohol.

All three were arraigned at the Worcester County District Courthouse on Tuesday.
