Mike Wallace is Here at Park View Room
For over half a century, 60 Minutes' fearsome newsman Mike Wallace went head-to-head with the world's most influential figures. Relying exclusively on archival footage, the film interrogates the interrogator, tracking Mike's storied career and troubled personal life while unpacking how broadcast journalism evolved to today's precarious tipping point.
As solidly compelling as its subject's best reporting, Mike Wallace Is Here is a worthy tribute and an engrossing look at the changing landscape of modern news.
The event begins at 7 p.m.

Lecture The Ancient of Days: Depicting God the Father in Orthodox Iconography with Christopher Helali at Museum of Russian Icons
This presentation focuses on depictions of God the Father, the fountainhead and source of the Holy Trinity, in Orthodox Christian iconography.
Since God the Father is neither incarnate nor comprehensible to the limited human mind, how can he be iconically depicted by humans? Orthodox Christian iconographers, informed by Eastern Orthodox theology and philosophy, used various means to depict God the Father, highlighting an inherent tension between popular religion and Church theology.
Christopher is currently a MALS student in cultural studies at Dartmouth College whose thesis research is focused on the Greek Orthodox Monastery of Sts. Raphael, Nicholas, and Irene on the island of Lesvos. Members $6, Nonmembers $12
The event begins at 1 p.m.

“In Motion, At Rest" Exhibit at ArtsWorcester
ArtsWorcester presents its newest exhibit titled “In Motion, At Rest,” by Janet Schwartz and Dave Kaphammer.
Schwartz concentrates on movement and shifting objects, while Kaphammer directs his attention to vehicles in a state of rest--these two artists deliver dynamic work in paint and pastel.
Schwartz gets inspiration from the motion of vehicles and the distortions that may occur through unusual lenses. She focuses on urban and highway landscapes, often through partially obscured views that blur and contort the realities outside.
Kaphammer is fascinated by just the opposite and looks to what happens when this motion stops, as these vehicles linger amongst a landscape. With dramatic light and shadowing, he explores a multitude of vehicles, some left in a state of decay.
