Holy Cross Uses 2nd Half Rally to Edge Siena 60-57

Holy Cross improves to 8-4 on the season, while Siena drops to 4-8 overall.
Holy Cross Rallies
After trailing 47-37 with 11:48 left to play in the second half, the Crusaders outscored Siena 17-2 over the next 6:09 to take a 54-49 lead.
Sophomore Austin Butler hit a pair of threes to begin the run, while the Saints made just one of seven field goal attempts.
The score stayed close the rest of the way, and Siena would pull back in front (57-56) with 2:17 to go on a three-pointer by Kevin Degnan.
A layup by Butler with 1:15 remaining gave Holy Cross the lead for good, then sophomore Caleb Green scored with just 23.4 seconds on the clock to make the score 60-57.
The Saints would have one last possession, but Jalen Pickett’s three-point attempt was off the mark in the closing seconds as the Crusaders pulled out the win.
Butler led Holy Cross with 18 points and five rebounds in the game.
Jehyve Floyd followed up with 14 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.
Next Up
Holy Cross returns to action on Sunday, December 30 when they visit Iona.
Game time is set for 1 p.m.
