Cara Brindisi Live at Nick's Cabaret Blues/Pop/Jazz

Cara Brindisi has been performing as a solo guitarist and singer since 2010 after completing her studies at Berklee College of Music.

Cara received the award for Best Female Vocalist (2017) and Best Solo Acoustic Act for the 2014 Worcester Music Awards, the same year she released her first EP Album, ‘Until Tomorrow‘. Cara has performed at various venues such as The Hampton Beach Ballroom Casino in Hampton, NH (opener for Chris Isaak as well as Tower of Power), ASYLUM in Portland, ME and the Newport Yacht Club in RI.

The concert begins at 9 p.m.

Earth Day Celebration at EcoTarium 

The EcoTarium is set to host their annual Earth Day celebration. 

Earth day will feature indoor and outdoor events, hands-on activities and entertainment.

Lunch, snacks, and festival foods will be available for purchase between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Beverage and snack vending machines are available inside the museum on the Middle Level.

Glassblowing Jellyfish Paperweights at New Street Glass Studio 

After learning the safety and studio etiquette rules, students will watch a brief demonstration of this 2000-year-old art before diving in and making their very own jellyfish paperweight from glass gathered out of a 2100-degree furnace. Instructors will guide students through the steps from gathering to creating a sea creature with simple color patterns, from casing it in clear glass to shaping their own paperweight. No experience is necessary and all materials are included.

Family Farm Fest at Old Sturbridge Village

Old Sturbridge Village invites young and old to celebrate spring with the arrival of baby animals and the preparation of our planting fields. Meet the Villages cuddly, heritage breed newborns up-close and experience first-hand the responsibilities of raising animals on a farm in 1830.

At the Freeman Farm, families will learn about 19th-century agriculture practices and tools, as well as learn how they are applicable to todays farmers and even backyard gardeners. Kids will even have a chance to try their hand at seasonal chores. 

The festival goes from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Rushnyky: Sacred Ukrainian Textiles at Museum of Russian Icons

A rushnyk is a long, rectangular cloth, typically made from linen or hemp, which is woven in one solid piece and sometimes adorned with bright, intricate patterns. They are traditionally made by women, who start learning to spin, weave, and embroider the cloths at a very young age. Today most rushnyky are machine made using modern materials, and can be purchased in retail establishments.

The exhibit goes from 11 a.m.to 4 p.m.
