“In Motion, At Rest" Exhibit at ArtsWorcester

ArtsWorcester presents its newest exhibit titled “In Motion, At Rest,” by Janet Schwartz and Dave Kaphammer.

Schwartz concentrates on movement and shifting objects, while Kaphammer directs his attention to vehicles in a state of rest--these two artists deliver dynamic work in paint and pastel.

Schwartz gets inspiration from the motion of vehicles and the distortions that may occur through unusual lenses. She focuses on urban and highway landscapes, often through partially obscured views that blur and contort the realities outside.

Kaphammer is fascinated by just the opposite and looks to what happens when this motion stops, as these vehicles linger amongst a landscape. With dramatic light and shadowing, he explores a multitude of vehicles, some left in a state of decay.
