ArtsWorcester Announces New Exhibit “Kat O’Connor: The Fluid Report of Motion”

Work by Kat O'Connor/ArtsWorceser

ArtsWorcester has announced their newest exhibit “Kat O’Connor: The Fluid Report of Motion.”

The exhibit will be the first one in the East Gallery of the new ArtsWorcester building.

This exhibition is on view in the East Gallery through August 3, with an opening reception on Thursday, June 20 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The Exhibit

In the exhibit, O’Connor explores issues of experience, expression, and individuality in her portraits.

These portraits of women, which rarely show faces, encourage the viewer to see each individual's passions, experiences, wisdom, and confidence as conveyed by their hands and bodies.

Each woman floats in water, which becomes an environment for magnifying strength, finding purpose, and conjoining realism and abstraction.

About O’Connor

O’Connor received her Bachelor of Arts in Art with highest honors from Montana State University and her Master of Fine Arts from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

She has shown her artwork extensively throughout Massachusetts, Texas, Montana, and beyond and is a Copley Master at the Copley Society of Art in Boston.
