The Massachusetts State Police are currently investigating a report of someone who is going door to door in Tewksbury claiming to be part of a police organization and fundraising for the children of Trooper Thomas Clardy, who passed away.

"Be advised that neither the Massachusetts State Police, nor to our knowledge any other police organization, are collecting donations for this cause by going door-to-door or by telephone," sad the State Police.

The only two official funds which have been set up to collect such donations are the following:

The Clardy Children’s Fund
C/O Avidia Bank
42 Main Street, Hudson, MA 01749

The Greg Hill Foundation

Thomas Clardy died as a result of injuries sustained when his cruiser was struck by a vehicle last week.
