Shots Fired at Police Cruiser in Millis, State Police Searching for Suspect

Massachusetts State Police and local police departments are searching for a suspect responsible for firing a gun into a Millis Police Department cruiser around 3 PM today.

According to State Police, the cruiser was struck by gunfire, then crashed and caught on fire. The initial investigation revealed that the shots came from a dark colored (possibly maroon) pickup truck. The suspect vehicle fled the scene after firing shots. Initial reports describe the suspect as a white male.

Patrols from State Police Troops H and C and an Air Wing helicopter are assisting in the search for the suspect.

At this time, State Police are not aware of any injuries and no further information is available.
