State Police Identify Man Killed in East Brookfield Crash

Information that was collected on the crash by Trooper Nicholas Holden indicated that a 2005 Toyota Sequoia was traveling southbound and a 2010 Jeep Wrangler was traveling northbound on Route 49. The two vehicles collided head on in the area of Flagg Road.
As a result of the crash, the operator of the Toyota, a 44 year old woman from Barre, and her passenger were both trapped in the vehicle.
Following extrication from the vehicle by the East Brookfield and Charlton Fire Departments, that operator was transported to UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester for treatment of serious injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation with assistance from State Police Collision Analysis..
