Worcester Man Charged With Trafficking in up to 99 Grams of Heroin

Worcester Police have arrested and charged Joel Acevedo-Aguilar of 33 May Street, Worcester with trafficking in 28-99 grams of heroin. Acevedo-Aguilar was arranged on Thursday in Worcester County District Court. 

The Investigation 

On January 13, the Worcester Police Vice Squad obtained a search warrant for 33 May Street, Apartment 2R, the home of 41-year-old Joel Acevedo-Aguilar. A search warrant was also obtained for Aguilar's motor vehicle. 

At 2:45 p.m., Acevedo-Aguilar was seen exiting his apartment and getting in his Honda Accord, taking off toward Ripley Street.  

Police conducted a motor vehicle stop and detained Acevedo-Aguilar. A search of Aguilar produced a cell phone, keys and $448 in cash. 

Police transported the vehicle back to headquarters to be secured and searched. Meanwhile, Aguilar was taken back to his apartment.

Officers took the keys from Aguilar and gained entry into the apartment. Other people within the apartment were secured while the officers conducted a search. 

Search Results 

The search of the apartment produced 55 grams of heroin, a digital scale and other relate drug paraphernalia. 

Vice officers searched the suspects car and found 110 bags of heroin in a void behind the dashboard and radio.
