Worcester police arrested 12 people in the area of King and Main Street for various quality of life issues.

The issues included drug possession, distribution, trespassing, and outstanding warrants.

The names of those arrested have not been released.

The Investigation

According to police, on Wednesday, the Worcester Police Neighborhood Response Team conducted targeted enforcement in the King and Main Street neighborhood to address quality of life issues.

The Neighborhood Response Team is assigned to neighborhoods throughout the city to solve long-term issues and emerging crime trends.

While enforcement is a necessary function, the overriding objective of the NRT is comprehensive and substantive problem resolution.

Officers identify problems in neighborhoods by seeking information and feedback from residents, business owners, and Neighborhood Groups.

As a result of this recent operation in the Main Street and King Street area, officers made 12 arrests.
