Worcester Police Investigating Harlem Street Shooting

The Incident
On April 16, 2019, at about 7:40 p.m., Worcester Police officers were sent to the area of Harlem and South Ward St for a report of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers saw a male gunshot victim lying on the sidewalk in front of 24 Harlem St. Officers saw that the male had been shot in the abdomen, and treated him medically.
Paramedics arrived, along with additional police units, and the victim was transported to the hospital.
Officers spoke with witnesses, who reported that the victim was on foot when a couple of people got out of a car and began to shoot at him on Harlem St. The victim was struck once and the vehicle drove away.
