Holy Cross Falls to Lehigh 99-94 in OT Despite 25 Points from Green

The loss drops Holy Cross to 10-6 overall and 1-2 in the Patriot League, while Lehigh improves to 10-4 overall and 3-0 in the conference.
Holy Cross falls to Lehigh
The Crusaders led by as much as 12 points, 65-53, with 17 minutes left in the game when Lehigh went on a 23-1 run to take a 76-66 lead with 9:40 left to go.
Holy Cross would trail 81-74 with 5:22 to play when a three by Jacob Grandson and two free throws from Matt Faw cut the Crusaders deficit to two, 81-79.
Holy Cross would retake the lead, 84-83, with 1:26 to play on a layup by Grandison, before Lehigh forced overtime tied at 86.
In the extra session, Lehigh hit three-pointers on three of their first four possession to take a 95-88 lead.
Holy Cross then scored the next six points to cut Lehigh’s lead to one, 95-94, and had the ball back with less than a minute to play.
However, the Crusaders were unable to score, before Lehigh’s Lance Tejada hit a three-pointer with 8.8 seconds left to put the game away.
Jehyve Floyd finished the night with 22 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists.
Next Up
Holy Cross returns to action on Saturday, January 12 when they host Lafayette.
Game time is set for 3 p.m.
