Joe Scott

Holy Cross men's basketball Head Coach Bill Carmody announced that Joe Scott has been named an assistant coach. Scott will begin his duties on June 1.

“I am excited to have Joe Scott become part of our coaching staff here at Holy Cross. He brings outstanding experience to our staff, and is very passionate about the game of basketball. I have known Joe for many years, and expect him to be a key part of our success moving forward," said Carmody.

Scott will begin his duties on June 1.

Joe Scott

Scott comes to Holy Cross from the University of Denver where he served as the head coach from 2007-2016. In that time, the Pioneers went 146-132 overall, setting a Division I school record with 22 victories in both 2011-2012 and 2012-2013.

In 2012-2013, his team shared the Western Athletic Conference regular season title, earned a bid to the National Invitation Tournament and posted the first postseason victory in school history.

Prior to Denver, Scott spent three seasons as the Head Coach at Princeton from 2004-2007 where he had the best scoring defense in the country in 2006-2007 at 52.9 points per game.

He was the Head Coach at Air Force prior to that.

Scott is a 1987 graduate of Princeton with a bachelor's degree in history. He was also a three year starter at point guard for the Tigers earning second team All-Ivy League honors.
