Glassblowing Jellyfish Paperweights

After learning the safety and studio etiquette rules, students will watch a brief demonstration of this 2000-year-old art before diving in and making their very own jellyfish paperweight from glass gathered out of a 2100-degree furnace.

No experience is necessary and all materials are included. 

The session goes from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Helmutt on the Move at Worcester Art Museum  

Helmutt is an armor-wearing boar hound statue; his armor is based on the plate dog armor of a hunting hound of Emperor Charles V. Leonard Heinrich, who was the armorer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, made Helmutts armor as a gift to John Woodman Higgins in 1942.

The exhibit is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

2017 Worcester Craft Brew Races 

The 2017 Worcester Craft Brew Races will feature over 45 breweries from the state of Massachusetts.

 

The Worcester Craft Brew race course is 3.1 mile/5K run or walk begins at City Hall, heads down Chandler St., turns North on Park Ave. past Elm Park, before ultimately heading back down Pleasant St. with a finish at the Worcester Common on Front St. 

The event begins at noon and goes until 4 p.m.

The Autism 5K Run & Walk for Autism Acceptance raises funds to give children and adults with autism and their families the information, resources, and support they need to thrive in our communities.

The event consists of a 5K Run & Walk, a Kids Corner, a kids fun run and a relaxation corner. 

There will also be live music. 

The event begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m.
