Holy Cross Football Visits Lehigh in Battle for 1st Place on Saturday

Holy Cross football visits Lehigh on Saturday.

The Holy Cross Crusaders football team hit the road this week for a showdown with first-place Lehigh on Saturday afternoon.

The Crusaders are 4-4 overall and 2-0 in the Patriot League, while Lehigh is 4-3 overall and 3-0 in the Patriot League.

Game time is set for 12:30 p.m.

Holy Cross vs Lehigh

This week's game will be the 35th all-time meeting between Holy Cross and Lehigh.

The Mountain Hawks lead the all-time series 19-14-1, but the Crusaders won 56-0 in Worcester last year.

Holy Cross Offense

The Crusaders offense is led by quarterback Connor Degenhardt.

He has led the Crusader offense by completing126 of 243 passes for 1,729 yards and 10 touchdowns on the year.

Senior running back Domenic Cozier has carried the ball 88 times for 493 yards and three touchdowns.

Wide receiver Tenio Ayeni has hauled in 30 passes for 363 yards and three touchdowns, with sophomore wide receiver Spencer Gilliam added 28 catches for 441 yards and two scores.

Holy Cross Defense

On the defensive side of the ball, defensive back Chris Riley leads the team with 54 tackles, three interceptions, and four pass breakups.

Linebacker Jacob Dobbs has added 52 tackles, two quarterback sacks, an interception, and three fumble recoveries, while junior defensive back Joe Lang has totaled 51 tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and two pass breakups.
