School Statistics
Their proficiency in math is most remarkable at 96%, especially considering the state average is 83%. Their graduation rate is also strong at 92.3%. SAT scores are also above the state average with verbal, writing and math averaging 521, 527 and 550-respectively.
Supportive Community +Teachers = Strong Students
David Uminski, Principal of Oakmont Regional High school, said "I think we have a very supportive community . Our parents are very much involved in the students’ academic progress. When we contact them about various issues they tend to be supportive more than not. We also have a terrific faculty here, which is very stable. There are a lot of veteran teachers here. They tend to come and stay. We have very little movement."
Extra Curricular Activities
Their athletic program is extremely successful. The football team qualified for the playoffs and went to the state finals. This year the boy’s hockey team won the state championship. In the art department, students have won numerous awards. Their musical from last year garnered the most Tamy award nominations than any other show. The Tamy awards are put on by Mount Wachusett Theater at Mount Wachusett Community College.
