MA State Police Investigating Fatal Crash in Leominster

Thursday, June 13, 2019

The Massachusetts State Police are investigating a fatal crash that took place late Tuesday night in Leominster.

The victim was identified as Steven Murphy, 44, of Woburn.

The Crash

At about 10:50 p.m. Tuesday night, a single vehicle crash on Route 190 in Leominster resulted in the death of the operator.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Jason Fitzgerald indicates that Murphy was driving a 2017 Ford Focus at a high rate of speed on Route 190 Southbound, just prior to Exit 7, when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and rolled over into the wood line.

The driver and sole occupant was determined to be deceased at the scene.

The breakdown and right travel lanes were closed approximately four hours.

This crash remains under investigation
