Benintendi’s 2 Home Runs, 5 Hits Leads Red Sox to 11-4 Win Over Texas

His five hit, two home run night follows Monday night's game in which he had a game winning RBI single in the 11th inning.
Benintendi becomes the first Red Sox rookie with two five hit games in a season.
The Red Sox improve to 49-35 on the season and have now won six straight games. They have a 4 game lead over the Yankees for first place in the AL East.
Benintendi Takes Over
The Red Sox got to Texas pitcher Yu Darvish early in the game.
In the second inning, Hanley Ramirez doubled to center field and then scored on a single by Benintendi to give Boston a 1-0 lead.
Benintendi would then score on a single to right field by Tzu-Wei Lin to put the Red Sox up 2-0.
The Red Sox would add to their lead in the fourth inning when Christian Vazquez hit an RBI single to right field to score Benintendi and give the Red Sox a 3-0 lead. Benintendi was on base after hitting a double two batters earlier.
Jackie Bradley Jr. would then score on a single by Lin to put Boston up 4-0.
The Red Sox would break the game open in the 5th when Benintendi would hit a three run home run to right field on a 1-1 count to give the Red Sox a 7-0 lead and chase Yu Darvish from the game.
Boston would add a run in the sixth and seventh inning before Benintendi would hit his second home run of the game in the 8th. Bradley Jr. followed up with his 11th home run of the season to put the Red Sox up 11-0.
They would go on to win 11-4.
David Price picked up the win going six innings and striking out nine in the game.

The Red Sox and Ranges wrap up their series on Wednesday, July 5 at 8 p.m.
The pitching matchup is Boston’s Doug Fister against Texas’ Andrew Cashner.
