Holy Cross Falls 79-74 to Colgate in Patriot League Opener

In the win, Colgate shot 51% from the field and 48 percent from three.
The Crusaders shot 49% from the field, but only 38% from three.
The Crusaders fall to 3-9 on the season and 0-1 in the Patriot League.
Holy Cross Can’t Hold on
With the game tied at 48 with 13:24 to play, the Crusaders went on a 5-1 run to take a 53-49 lead, their largest of the game.
However, Colgate would respond with a 7-0 run to take a 56-53 lead.
They would push their lead to 10, 73-63, with 2:21 to play in the game.
The Crusaders would get as close as three points, 77-74, with 21 seconds to play following back-to-back threes by Jehyve Floyd.
Floyd tied his career-high with 15 points in the game
However, Colgate would hang on for the win.
Next up
Holy Cross returns to action on Tuesday, January 2 when they visit Lafayette.
Game time is set for 7 p.m.
