Canines for Disabled Kids will host event at Wormtown Brewery

There is plenty going on in Worcester on the first official weekend of Summer, events for all ages. 

Events include MASSive Comic Con at the DCU Center, a Canines for Disabled Kids event at Wormtown Brewery, the Bravehearts are back in action and much more.

Worcester Bravehearts vs Nashua Silver Knights at Fitton Field

The Bravehearts are back at Fitton Field to host the Silver Knights at 7 p.m. 

Worcester is currently 7-8 on the season while the Silver Knights are 10-6 overall. 

Following the game, stick around for fireworks.

Glassblowing Apothecary Jars at New Street Glass Studio

After learning the safety and studio etiquette rules, students will watch a brief demonstration of this 2000-year-old art before diving in and making their very own apothecary jar from glass gathered out of a 2100-degree furnace.

Students will choose their own colors and instructors will guide the class through the steps from gathering to applying colors, from blowing a bubble to shaping their own apothecary jar. 

The class goes from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

MASSive Comic Con at DCU Center

MASSive Comic Con is set to take place on June 24 and June 25 at the DCU Center.

Comic Con hours are as follows: 

Saturday, June 24                            10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Sunday, June 25                               10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This year's con will feature celebrities such as Diamond Dallas Page and Booker T, and Chester Rushing of Stranger Things. There will also be plenty of comic book artists, writers and cosplayers as well.

Helmutt on the Move at Worcester Art Museum  

Helmutt is an armor-wearing boar hound statue; his armor is based on the plate dog armor of a hunting hound of Emperor Charles V. Leonard Heinrich, who was the armorer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, made Helmutts armor as a gift to John Woodman Higgins in 1942.

The exhibit is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
