Two Arrested for Gun Possession, Traffic Violations in Leominster

Michael Magee, 65, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, unregistered motor vehicle, and uninsured motor vehicle.
Shavar Bellamy, 32, was charged with felon in possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition without a permit and possession of a firearm without a license.
The Incident
On Monday morning, at approximately 8:52 a.m., MA State Trooper Joseph Hall, of the State Police Troop C Community Action Team (CAT), was monitoring traffic on North Main Street in the city of Leominster, when he stopped a 2007 Toyota Yaris as it entered Route 2 Eastbound from North Main Street, for motor vehicle violations, to include a recently cancelled vehicle registration.
As a result of an investigation, with the assistance of Trooper Corey Sheenan, the driver, identified as Magee was found to be operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license.
A passenger, after first providing a false name, was subsequently identified as Bellamy was found to be in possession of a loaded Colt .380 pistol. BELLAMY is not licensed to carry a firearm or ammunition.
