Worcester Man Killed During Motorcycle Accident on Father’s Day

A Worcester man was killed during a motorcycle accident on Sunday morning in the area of Franklin Street.

The identity of the man has not yet been released.

The Incident

On the morning of Sunday, June 17 at about 4:10 a.m., Worcester Police were sent to the area of 631 Franklin St for a report of a single motorcycle accident. Upon arrival, it was immediately apparent that the accident was very serious and likely to be fatal.

The preliminary investigation reveals that the driver of the motorcycle, 23-year-old Worcester man, was riding east on Franklin St when he lost control and crossed the double yellow lines.

The driver struck the curb, pushing the operator on to the sidewalk. Next, the operator struck a small tree and then a green light pole. It is currently believed that the operator was instantly killed by the impact of the collision.

The collision was called in by a passerby, who did not witness it. The operator was pronounced deceased on scene. The crash is still under investigation by the Crash Reconstruction Unit.
