Man Shot in Thigh Outside of Accra Girls Restaurant in Worcester

Thursday, February 22, 2018

A man was shot in the thigh outside of Accra Grils restaurant on Grafton St. late Monday night by a man who was attempting to rob him.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 27 years old, 5'11" tall, 150 pounds, with facial hair, wearing a black jacket with the hood up, and brown pants.

The victim has since been released from the hospital.

The Incident

On February 19 at about 10:30 p.m., Worcester Police officers were dispatched to the area of 1280 Grafton St for a report of two males fighting. Shortly afterwards, a call was placed for a gunshot victim at the BeeZee Gas Station at 177 Southwest Cutoff.

Officers responded and delivered medical treatment to the 42-year-old victim, who was bleeding from a gunshot wound to his left thigh. The victim said that as was leaving the Accra Girls restaurant on Grafton St, a man came up to him and demanded money from him. The victim charged the suspect, who fired one round that struck the victim in the leg. They briefly struggled, and the suspect ran away. The victim drove to the gas station and called police. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.
