The Incident

On July 11 at about 7:50 p.m., Worcester Police officers were sent to the area of 114 Chandler St for a report of gunshots. There were several calls about a group of youth shooting at each other in the street.

When officers arrived, the crowd had dispersed. Police located a crime scene on Jacques Ave and spoke to witnesses.

Witnesses said that there two groups of youth standing on opposite sides of Jacques St. They began yelling at each other and shots were fired. Both groups fled the area on foot and in vehicles.

Approximately five minutes after the initial call came in, police received a call that a gunshot victim had been dropped off at St. Vincent’s Hospital. Officers located the victim, a twenty-two-year-old Worcester man, who had a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
