Worcester Columbus Day Parade

Columbus Day weekend is here and Worcester is jam-packed with events for all ages. 

This weekend’s events include the annual Columbus Day Parade, a used book sale at the Museum of Russian Icons, a surprise concert by the Flock of A-Holes and much more.

SURPRISE Flock Of A-Holes show at The Cove Music Hall 

Due to a cancellation, The Flock will be filling in at The Cove Music Hall for the entire evening on Friday. 

The concert goes from 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Glassblowing Jellyfish Paperweights at New Street Glass Studio

After learning the safety and studio etiquette rules, students will watch a brief demonstration of this 2000-year-old art before diving in and making their very own jellyfish paperweight from glass gathered out of a 2100-degree furnace.

Instructors will guide students through the steps from gathering to creating a sea creature with simple color patterns, from casing it in clear glass to shaping their own paperweight. No experience is necessary and all materials are included. 

The class goes from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Fiber of Our Being Exhibit at Worcester Center for Crafts

The Worcester Center for Crafts is set to feature over 75 pieces of fine art felting in its Krikorian Gallery during the “Fiber of our Being” exhibit.

The Sleepy Hollow Experience at Old Sturbridge Village 

At The Sleepy Hollow Experience, guests will be guided through the Village's countryside where they will encounter Ichabod Crane, Katrina Van Tassel, Brom Bones and quite possibly the Headless Horseman.

Each outdoor performance is approximately 1.5 hours long, and requires standing and walking. 

The event runs from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Worcester Art Teacher to Exhibit in Worcester JCC Gallery

Worcester Public School art teacher Francis Warner will have her art exhibit titled "A Visual Narrative," on display. 

The show will feature a compilation of works that span over 40 years, including watercolors, oils, acrylics, pen and ink, egg tempera, and encaustic.
