Man Arrested for Trafficking Heroin in Worcester

Worcester Police arrested Carlos Morales-Marte and charged him with trafficking heroin in Worcester. 

During a search of his Camp Street apartment, Police found 91 grams of heroin, scales, and sandwich baggies, $1,070 in cash. 

Marte is currently being held at WPD headquarters on $100,040 cash bail.

The Incident 

On Wednesday, November 9,members of the Worcester Police Department Vice Squad possessed a search warrant for 25 Camp Street. The named target of the search warrant was Morales-Marte, 56, of the Camp Street address.

At approximately 11:05 a.m., undercover vice officers saw Marte enter a black Acura that was parked outside a Haviland Street address that he was known to visit. Marte was seen driving away. 

The undercover officers were aware that Marte’s right to operate a car had been suspended and officers driving a marked police car stopped the Acura at Main and Norwood Streets. Marte was shown the warrant for the Camp Street address.

Multiple Vice officers went to the Camp Street apartment and knocked loudly on the door and announced their presence. No one answered. After a brief moment the officers forced their way into the apartment. Once inside, a man was found. After the apartment was secured Marte was brought inside. A locked bedroom, belonging to Marte, was forced open. 

A search of the bedroom produced 91 grams of heroin, scales, sandwich baggies, $1,070 in cash. Marte was placed under arrest. A search of Marte produced $132.00 in cash. Marte’s car was towed to police headquarters for processing.

Marte was issued a citation for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, possession of class A substance (heroin, 2nd subsequent offense) and trafficking in heroin (37-99 grams).

Vice investigators obtained a search warrant for the Havilland Street apartment that he visits. On Wednesday, at approximately 3:30 p.m., vice officers executed the warrant. The officers were allowed in by the occupant. 

The search of the apartment produced a vacuum sealed bag of marijuana and $2,220 in cash.

All cash, marijuana and heroin were confiscated as evidence and processed.
