Worcester Man Arrested After Assaulting and Kidnapping Girlfriend

He also had two outstanding warrants due to unrelated incidents.
Due to the domestic nature of the incident, Massachusetts state law requires that the name of the victim and suspect remain confidential at this time.
The Incident
Worcester Police were sent to a Pelham Street address for a reported kidnapping. Upon arrival, police met with a 38-year-old female victim. The victim reported that she was walking in the area of the Main Street YMCA at approximately 5 AM this morning when she encountered her boyfriend of 6 months, a 33-year-old Worcester man. The two engaged in an argument, at which time the boyfriend started punching the female in the face with a closed fist.He threw the victim to the ground and dragged her by her hair from the location of the assault to an address on Austin Street. The boyfriend then held the female victim against her will in the apartment.
At approximately 8:30 AM, the female attempted to leave the apartment but he grabbed her by the arms and dragged her back in against her will.
At approximately 10:30 AM, the male suspect fell asleep at which time the female was able to escape the apartment and call the police. The female victim told police that she believed that her boyfriend was still inside the apartment on Austin Street. Worcester Police went to the apartment and were able to locate the suspect.
