Worcester Man Arrested Possession of Cocaine Following Raid of his Paine Street Apartment

Friday, July 29, 2016

Jorge Adorno, 29, of Worcester was arrested and charged with illegal possession of a class A substance with the intent to distribute, illegal possession of a class B substance with the intent to distribute and a drug violation within a school zone.

The arrest followed a police raid of his 81 Paine Street apartment.

The Incident

Members of the Worcester DEA High Intensity Drug Task Force (HIDTA Group) executed a search warrant at 81 Paine Street, Worcester. The target of the warrant was Jorge Adorno, 29-years-old of the Paine Street apartment.

At approximately 2:00 PM, the task force encountered Adorno as he was leaving his apartment. Adorno was stopped and explained that they had a warrant to search his apartment and for his arrest. He then started to cause a commotion by yelling and attempting to flee.

Adorno attempted to force his way past the officers, troopers and agents before he was handcuffed and searched. The search produced $545.00 in cash, a cell phone, a bag containing crack cocaine and heroin and a bag of packaging materials.

Task force members were able to enter the apartment without force as the door was left open when Adorno exited the building. There was an infant and a small child sleeping in the apartment. Once the apartment was secured Adorno began to scream and become extremely agitated. Adorno was removed from the premises and transported to police HQ for processing.

The children and the mother were allowed to leave the apartment prior to the search.

The search of the apartment produced a glass jar which contained crack cocaine and a bag of packaging materials.

The cash and narcotics were seized as evidence.
