Champion’s 17 Points Not Enough as Holy Cross’ Comeback Falls Short at Loyola

The Crusaders drop to 5-4 in the Patriot League and 11-11 overall while Loyola improves to 10-10 overall and 4-5 in the Patriot League.
Crusaders Comeback Falls Short
Holy Cross trailed by seven, 59-52 with 2:24 left to play in the game before Malachi Alexander knocked down a three-pointer and Clayton Le Sann made two free throws to pull the Crusaders within two, 59-57 with 32.6 left to play.
Holy Cross would get within two points three more times in the final 30 seconds, but could never get over the hump.
The Greyhounds would convert six of their final eight free throws to seal the win.
The Leaders
Alexander led Holy Cross with 20 points on 8 of 13 shooting from the field, while Champion poured in 17 points off the bench on 5 of 11 shooting from the field.
