Gino Faiola, 35, is being charged with possession of a class B substance w/ the intent to distribute, possession of a class A substance, possession of a class E substance, possession of ammo w/out an FID, and resisting arrest.
The Arrests
On Thursday, January 26, members of the Worcester Police Vice Squad were in possession of a search warrant for 30 Suffield Street Apartment 3. The target of the warrant was Philip, 35.
At approximately 9:30 a.m., Worcester Police approached the apartment to execute the search warrant. Police made contact with Philip inside the apartment and entered. In the process of securing the apartment, officers encountered a man identified as Faiola exiting a bedroom within the residence. Upon seeing police, Failoa took a bag containing cocaine out of his pants pocket, ripped it open, and attempted to dump its contents onto the floor as he walked towards the pantry.
As officers approached, Faiola threw the bag containing cocaine onto the ground. Officers then grabbed onto Faiola and attempted to place him into handcuffs. He resisted and attempted to pull away from officers and leave. Eventually, three officers were able to gain control of Faiola and place him into handcuffs.
In the process of clearing the apartment for more potential suspects, officers found Philip’s 8-year-old son asleep in a separate bedroom.
A subsequent search of the apartment revealed approximately 7 grams of powder cocaine, 2 grams of crack cocaine, a plastic bag containing heroin, digital scales, packaging material, and one live round of .380 ammunition.
Due to the nature of the investigation as well as the conditions in the apartment and presence of illegal narcotics, members of the Vice Squad contacted DCF who arrived on scene and took custody of the child.
Worcester Police Animal Control was also on scene and removed a pit bull from the apartment.
