Woman Struck by Car While Crossing Lincoln Street in Worcester

A woman was hit by a Honda Accord at the intersection of Lincoln and Catherine Street on Tuesday morning. 

The woman, 57, of Ayer, Massachusetts, was rushed to a local hospital to be treated for injuries to her arm, collarbone and leg. Her condition is not known at this time. 

The driver of the Honda Accord was identified as a 57-year-old woman from Worcester. 

The investigation is ongoing. 

The Incident 

On Tuesday, October 11, at approximately 6:30 a.m. the Worcester Police Accident Reconstruction Team responded to a report of a pedestrian accident on Lincoln Street at the intersection of Catherine Street. When officers arrived, they met with the pedestrian who was identified as a 57-year-old woman of Ayer. 

According to witnesses, the woman was attempting to cross Lincoln Street when she was struck by a Honda Accord. 

She began to cross the street when the north and south bound lanes had a green traffic signal. The woman stepped back to avoid being hit by a truck that traveling north on Lincoln Street. 

She then continued on and was struck by the Honda Accord. 

During the investigation, officers learned that the woman did not use the crosswalk or pedestrian crossing signals attached to the lights.
