Worcester Man Arrested for Firing Gunshots After a Fight

Friday, January 06, 2017

A Worcester man was arrested for firing gunshots during an argument that took place in the area of 9-15 Enfield Street in Worcester. Two bullet holes were found in the outside of one of the buildings.

Miguel Alcoba, 38, was arrested for two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon (firearm) as well as assault and battery.

The Incident

On January 3, 2017, at 12:00 a.m., Worcester Police responded to the area of 9-15 Enfield Street in response to a ShotSpotter notification of two gunshots at that location. Upon arrival, officers located one spent shell casing in front of 9 Enfield Street as well as two bullet holes in the outside of the building.

As a result of the initial investigation, police got information that residents of the building were involved in an argument with another man later identified as Alcoba.

Police were told that on two prior occasions, Alcoba had threated a resident of the apartment with a handgun outside of 9 Enfield Street. It was also learned that Alcoba had punched a man in the face during one of these earlier disputes.

As a result of the information, police were able to locate Alcoba and place him under arrest

The investigation into the gunshots call from January 3 is still active.
